For $1000 you can buy a used D810 on ebay. If the seller has a 100% rating and sells cameras it's no more of a risk than buying new. Be sure to read the listing carefully. If it is described as in good working order, Paypal will refund your money and postage if it is not as listed. For more than 5 years now, I buy all my electronics, cameras, musical instruments used on ebay from top rated sellers, selling the type of item I'm looking for. I wouldn't consider buying any of it new.
