Irish Republic - Killaney, Roman Catholic Cathedral, Part 1

There are two cathedrals in town, one Roman Catholic and one Church of Ireland, Both were within walking distance from our hotel.

Very nice. I like the detail shots.

St Mary's Cathedral in Killarney was designed by the renowned English Gothic Architect Augustus Pugin.

Pugin was also the the principal designer for the Houses of Parliament / Westminster Palace and the Big Ben Tower in London although Charles Barry is officially recognized as the Architect. Being a Catholic, Pugin was unable to submit the design in his own name so worked in collaboration with Barry.
