Sorry about the pic quality, they are much darker and less saturated on this post than the files are actually.

To keep your saturation, make sure they are in sRGB or if you have photoshop, go to file, save for web.

Thanks, obviously I don't post many photos on the web.

I didn't know to do that either for the longest time! Try posting those photos again and let's see how they look!

Seems better! Does it look closer to what your photo looks like?

Again, thanks. They are closer to my prints... but still slightly off. Good enough tho.

What area of Cal are you located?

Those are much better now. If they seem off from your prints, maybe your monitor needs to be calibrated. When you edited the pictures, did the prints look like your monitor?

I'm in Ventura County, near the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. Where are you?

We are many miles apart!! If you ever get down this way to go to the Reagan Library, let me know. It's a very lovely place to visit.

I hope I helped the OP in your interior shooting. Your HDR work on your website is very impressive... beautiful eye and great subject matter.

Not sure who you were addressing. I am sure you helped the OP out greatly. Your suggestions on how to shoot were excellent!

I would try shooting at a different time of day. The sun is obviously blasting through the window and I doubt that HDR with 5 stops of bracketing will fix that. Wait until the sun is on the other side of the house or shoot just after sunset.

Krispix is right about changing the time of day to avoid strong sun coming in. I have had time constraints and had to shoot with the clients timetable, which would preclude coming back later or waiting for the sun to track on.

HDR is perfect for that, and you may need to shoot one frame outside the bracketed sequence for inclusion. Spot metering (or incident metering) for the brightest spot in that sunlight blast and under expose 1/3 or so, depending on the colors the sun is illuminating. Using that frame just for that sun blast, you don't eliminate the sunlight streaming in, but show the sun coming in without blowing out the highlights.

The added benefit of this is an interior that is bright, airy and welcoming.
