WOW! reading this forum has reawakened my interest in macro photography! I have one question...I see in several posts what appears to be short synch cords. I ordered one that looked short and found that it was as long as the standard length ones I already have. Do they even make a shorter cord for Nikon equipment?
The alternative would be cutting the middle out of my SC-17 cord and re-soldering the ends together.
Thanx!

You may possibly not be able to solder the wires if they are aluminum.

Rather than cutting it, I would just coil the extra an put a twist tie on it to keep it coiled.

I am with jamesI on this. You don't know when you would like longer cords again.

Thanks, for the welcome and suggestions, all!
I may try James1's solution...my SC 17 is ancient, so I don't believe the wires are aluminum. My SC 28s...not so sure. There was a fellow that once offered the shortening service, and he posted a DIY on it, so I suppose it is possible, but micro soldering was never my thing. I have so many cords now, one less won't make much difference!
