Been listening for a year now.
Just signed on.
Right now I'm creating photographs with the viewpoint of "The Lighting is everything " and I was wondering if any of the pros had that stop upon their journeys?

Long time enthusiast. My journey went as follows: technical proficiency with the equipment> composition> natural lighting> daylight + flash>multi flash lighting.

Considering that “photo” means light and “ography” the study of it. Yes, I’d say lighting is everything.

So all a photo needs to be great is great lighting? I don't believe that is true.

Lighting is everything if we achieve the right exposure for it.

Never a pro, always a hobbyist. And have never stopped believing in the importance of light.

Love shooting at Golden Hour, but even more I love shooting into the light for revealing textures of translucent subjects or for silhouettes, rim light, flare, sun sparkles. Harsh light for graphic-like b&w too. It's all good.
