I have periodic problem with Photo Shop ignoring commands for paper size. My wife and I both very carefully instructed it to print 11x14, after sizing the image to those dimensionsin PS/Image/Image Size. All looked good until we started printing and it printed 8.5x11. Not once, but three times, after we went step by step through the process. Drives one crazy! It has happened before, but not always. Tonight it seems to be stuck on that size. Any ideas on how to avoid this? I am close to employing sledge hammer maintenance!

This won’t help you in Photoshop, but I prefer to print from Lightroom. It seems much more straightforward and I can create my own layouts and custom sizes. If you have the subscription, you’ll have access to LR.
Good luck getting answers! I’d be interested in them as well because I’ve had problems printing from Photoshop, too.
GrandmaG is on target with printing from LR, I find that printing from LR is easy to setup and produce prints that are what you trying to accomplish.
I'm guessing you looked at every dialog in your PS print set up. Did any dialog from your printer driver open. I always go in & check my printer driver settings (paper size etc.) before printing due to the very reason your talking about. I hope this helps.
Once you select your printer do you check your print settings? Paper size? Maybe create a preset you can go to for the size you normally use.
Me too, easier printing from LR
IF a Windows printer driver window pops up, check the print parameters it... Don't just say OK.

First Mac or PC? I use a PC and Don't know if the Print dialog box for Mac matches.
On the Photoshop Print setting Window
Printer Setup: Should be the name of the printer
Copies: # of Copies
Print Settings...: Pressing this will bring up the printer Properties Dialog. Set paper size to match paper type. In your case 11x14. ( Both my printers don't have a 11x14 option so I use 11x17. My canon printer does have a custom setting)
Layout: Portrait or Landscape
I always set Print Managers Colors, Normal Printing and Percepual
Position & Sizes
Center:
Scale: Check Scale to Fit media or enter the Height & width of the paper selected using the "Print Settings..." above
Photoshop Print Setting windows should have an image of how it will print
Hope this helps
I have seen on windows updates it will try to update drivers. Believe this or not sometimes they get it wrong. Make sure you have the latest drivers from the printer company.

I'm sorry to hear you're having such frustrating trouble, luckily that never happened to me with PS. Sorry I do not understand either, how PS could behave this way ( having a mind of its own). Maybe you should reset all your preferences and re-boot.

Qimage is without a doubt the best printer application. Output exceeds the quality from Photoshop, Lightroom, or anything else I have tried.

Thanks to all for your thoughtful replies. In answer to a frequent theme of questions: yes, we have checked and rechecked all the settings, turned everything off and on again, carefully gone through all the settings, multiple times, as you have so nicely suggested. Still working on the issue and if we get a solution we will pass it along. FWIW, we are on Macs, each using a Pro-100, and have had some of the normal issues frequently found in PS. We also use LR most of the time as we are on subscription like most others. As I say, we will keep plugging away on it (will contact Canon and Apple tomorrow as today is Sunday)and see what happens. Meanwhile, a very appy new year to you all and thanks once again!
You can also use it to schedule a regular unclog routine for those times when you are not printing regularly. Mine puts out a page once a week using all of the inks.

I love Qimage. The scheduled unclog is essential when you own an Epson.

It should be pretty straight forward. Check to see what the "scale to media" button is doing. Is it checked or unchecked.
When I have a problem printing a picture that doesn't print as I have sent the size to the printer (in PS), it has always been my printer settings that I didn't have to match the print size.
