Ladybird face

Unlike the fantastic work of sippyjug my macro shots are often hand held using a 105mm Nikor lens and, not generally one for major challenges, with live subjects. This one is no exception although I probably had extension tubes on. The ladybird was place on a pelargonium petal and it proceeded to check it out. After 15 minutes, or so, it settled down and I was able to get this one shot before it wandered off again. They say macro is addictive, I wonder.......

I don't know about addictive, but when one 'nails' one, as you surely do, there is a sense of self satisfaction that makes it worth the effort.

Thanks Bill. Trouble is you gotta keep looking for these little orphans to bring home and then explain to she who shall be obeyed why you brought that ugly thing in the house.

My wife often exclaims " I'm sick of seeing bugs!" Hell...I'm just warming up.

Never had that trouble.
Tho the specimens in the freezer and the unknown mushrooms in the fridge caused a problem.
And, I thought you were going to show LBJ's wife. Glad I was wrong.

Job very well done..! I really like the choice of colors and the high degree of detail in the eyes with the focus spot on. I know how tiny these little buggers are which makes this quite interesting as a view that cannot be seen with the unaided eye.

And...yes, macro/micro photography is highly addictive with no known cure so enjoy the pursuit and keep them coming..!

I agree with the others. This is an interesting picture that shows a bit of personality in the subject. Focus is excellent.
