It is not exactly mobile, is it? I remember dial pay phone with 3 coin slots....love to see one of them!

This is in South Carolina, at a gas station. I was surprised to see it. And from the looks of it, calls can be made from it.

These were the tools of traveling sales reps years ago, before the spread of cell towers and phones. They were the contact nodes back to the offices and forward to the clients. I was one of those sales reps for decades.

They also had these things called phone books, and invariably, the number you needed was on the page that someone had torn out.🥴

I always wondered what happened to all those clothes he left behind. "Well, we do have a 'Clark Kent' section at the Goodwill store."
