Again problems with windows 10 update. This time it rendered all Microsoft apps unavailable = "Elements not found."
The fix on the internet was not clear or easy.
Very frustrating Microsoft! Every time a problem

Another reason I'm keeping 7 as long as I can (until a system dies), until they get most of the bugs worked out.

Most of my MS Windows 10 upgrades have gone smoothly, better than previous versions.

Then, in Sept. I had a Win 10 upgrade that crashed, damaging my hard drive structure and destroying most of the image files on the drive. - I knew better. But, I did not have a backup of all my work before clicking on the "simple" online update.

Be warned. Not against Win 10. But to regularly update your work onto an external drive to protect the most important content on the computer.

knocking on wood here, but I've never had an issue with updating Win10.

I don't know why some have all kinds of issues, and some (I'm guessing a lot of us) don't. Of course, who ever posts "Yay, another successful update?" You only hear when someone has an issue...

I sure hope you get it fixed, and hope my computer doesn't catch whatever yours has.

I did an update to the 1903 build and have no issues other than a printer driver needing an update. Some manufacturers are either slow to make updates, or don’t plan updates, expecting you to buy new printers or other peripherals.

Windows 10 is the most stable version they’ve released. Staying on 7 is limiting. If you had problems with PSE and other apps you probably had other hidden issues before the upgrade.

Limiting as to what?
Seven does everything I need.
What would I be missing?

All future security patches. I have 3 Windows 10 computers and have never had a problem.

The limiting part starts with W and rhymes with windows

J/k, I'm with you LS, Windows 7 was a good solid O/S and probably my favorite since NT4.

I have found Win 10 to be deeply flawed. I, too, am sticking with 7 as long as I can. We have 3rd party virus protection going.

Hahaha, it does sometimes, but you have to really muck stuff up to make it stop.

Funny off-topic story, but it's worth sharing:

I once accidentally deleted the /etc folder while doing some file operations in command line. The computer kept running like a champ and I had enough time to restore it from a recent backup. I learned two important things that day.
1. Get out of ROOT unless you need to be there!
2. Never EVER run "rm -rf" unless you really mean it and aren't distracted.
