On all windows products prior to Windows 10, there was always a little trash bucket icon which you could press to see what's in the trash bin and recover it - no problem. In my current Windows 10, there is no such trash bin icon, and I've explored unsuccessfully every which way to recover deleted files. I even ran a separate undelete program, but to no avails. Any suggestions as to how to install such an icon and make it work are welcome. Thanks in advance

Run a recovery program on the drive you had the files stored on. I have had good luck. Did you run a search for trash bin or a specific file name that is deleted?

I miss that Windows feature, too. All you can do is Restore the deleted file to see what it is. Then you have to find it.

Some possibilities -

Right click the Windows Start button, lower left corner of screen.
Pick 'search' from the menu
Search for 'recycle bin'
Pick the 'Recycle Bin App'
See if the files you want to recover are listed

BTW, the Recycle Bin launch icon should be on your desktop. If you show the desktop, you should see / find it that way too.

I have Win 10 also/ On the desk top, upper left ,there is a RECYCLE icon. Click on it, your deleted items may be there. "Trash" is an e-mail location.

And the bad news is everything you have ever deleted from windows 10 will be restored.

That’s nonsense. You can select the files that you want restored.

The recycle bib still exists. Its likely you accidentally deleted it from your desktop. Try restoring it using the following procedure:

How to Restore the Recycle Bin Icon in Windows 10
1. Select the Start button, then select Settings. Or, right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize.
2. Select Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
3. Select the Recycle Bin checkbox > Apply.

Be careful... Some apps bypass the trashcan when you delete via the app.
POUF!
