Thanks Linda. I hope you weren't too elated at the outcome last night.

Hey , it's just a silly little rhyme from my childhood that was taught to me by my grandfather who was born in the 1900th century. I've had both and always prefered Chevys to Ford.

I hold no grudge against your Packers
I do think Patrick Mahomes is quite the cutie, so was happy for that game's result.
Nothing makes me smile like those old trucks. Daddy had a few Fords and a few Chevys. The were fun.
I remember reworking the engines and clutches and transmissions and having carb problems and starter
and generator replacements. You couldn't get 50,000 miles out of one of those things.
Since 1990 I have had 3 pickups, two Excursions, three Suburbans and put more than 300,000 on each of them. while pulling horses trailers, etc. Have bought 1 transmission and other than that just tires and brakes and shocks. Hard to say if I like Fords over Chevys. But last 3 have been Fords . . . probably because two of my best friends are Ford dealers.s
If they would be back the big Excursion I would buy a half dozen of them today. For me, the best vehicle ever made.

I had a '71 Ford station wagon that I owned for 23 years. The only time it left me stranded by the side of the road was when it ran out of gas and that was on me. On the other had, I had a '64 Chevrolet Impala that I had to have the V8 engine AND the Power-Slide transmission rebuilt at less that 50K miles. Needless to say that was my last Chevy.
BTW, I found out Chevrolet is French for "Pile of Crap".
Great photo. I can hear Dinah Shore singing right now.
Dennis
If you really want to get charged up look at the Dinah Shore u-tube of her signing the song and showing off the 1953 Bel Air. Power Glide. Had one of those in 1963 when I was in college. Great little coupe. Life was good.
Thank you for all the comments on the photos. The post sparked some nostalgic thoughts as intended.
