House across the lake from me is seldom used, like lots of other houses on our lake.
Looks lonesome.

Looks like a wonderful spot. Unfortunate that it is "lonesome" ... at this time of the year, just coming out of a week in the deep freeze, I'd be happy to keep it come and company (particularly if there are fish in that lake :) ).

My parents moved from long Island many years ago, when they retired, The Eastern Shores of Virginia in a small community on the Chesapeake Bay became their new home, my parents bought a ranch on a creek that opened to the bay and lived their until my father passed three years ago. Their were two houses on points of the creek that were set up much like the one in your photo, beauty comes with a price. Shopping was the biggest issue, it was a 12 mile drive one way just to get to the main road and another mile or two to a store.

This is my second retirement house. The first was blown away by a hurricane! We're about a half-hour away from a medium size city, Auburn (AL).

It’s my happy place. My wife and her brother own a long time family home there. We split our time between there and Birmingham. It is so peaceful there in the winter
