Yesterday and.....

Today....

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday, just a little before 4:30pm a neighbor stopped by for a few minutes. When I opened the door, besides seeing my neighbor, I saw the golden light from the sun setting behind my house, streaming across the yard of the house across the street from me.

It was probably no more than 10 minutes before he left and I grabbed my camera and went outside. Even in that short amount of time the light had changed quite a bit. The golden light that had been covering the whole front yard right from the street had now changed to mostly shade in those ten minutes or so. I grabbed a couple of shots, but was disappointed I had missed so much of that golden light, and had no intentions of posting either image, until today.

Today, it started to snow around 1:30pm. We are supposed to get 3 to 6" or so before it ends tonight. Anyway, thinking back to yesterdays weather and the photo I took, I thought a shot of what that scene looked like yesterday might make for an interesting comparison of the change in the weather between yesterday and today, and what the scene looked like today.

That is great! What a difference! Great illustration. It's all about the light. Warm contrasty directional golden hour light verses soft cool light. That is a great illustration. And a nice job technically on both photos.

You're welcome. To me those two shots tell completely different stories. The first feels warm and inviting, I like the man on the road. It is a place I would like to go. The 2nd feels soft and wintery, I can almost hear/feel the quiet stillness of the falling snow.

Today.... br br What a difference a day makes. Ye... (show quote)

Seen together, there is interest here. Just as you said: What a difference a day makes....and if you didn't have the first photo to contrast with the second, you would not necessarily have a story.

Thanks for commenting Erich. I had no intention of posting the first photo once the light had changed and started to fade so quickly, as in my opinion, it was nothing more than a snapshot of the house across the street. When it started snowing Saturday afternoon, I thought back to the photo I took Friday, and the difference between the two days weather, and decided to take the second shot.
