These shots are of Lagavulin bay, one with a lee 10 stop Nd which gives of the blueish tint l know you can get rid of it, but it suits (l think) some scenes, the other is a normal exposure both are pp to taste......which one do you prefer...

I am quite partial the first one. It is warm and inviting, just like the single malt produced in that region.

Like the first one. The second just looks out of focus to me (i know it was on purpose....)

I think each has its own unique appeal. 1 is more realistic, but 2 is a bit more ethereal and I kind of like that look. Nice images both.

Long exposures are difficult to pull off, and I appreciate your sense of artistry in #2.

I like them both Colin. Two different stories to me.......the 2nd one is the blue hour....waiting, smooth water (long exposure I'm guessing), everything quiet and calm, then #1, sun above the horizon, color changes, mood changes, activities start, water picks up a current, everything sharp, the day has started! Nicely done. Bev

Thank you, but it is not my photograph. I can only dream of getting a shot like that.

Number one is more dynamic, but I also like number two.
