Black Cricket Compound Eye and Antenna Socket

This is my preserved black cricket that I staged for a magnified study of its compound eye, primitive eye and antenna socket. The camera setup and gear are the same as my previous post today.

If insects made movies, this might be Darth Vader in a Star Wars remake.

Are you thinking about the bug hunt in Fla?
With Mark there you will doublely enjoy the trip.

Thanks, Bill. I doubt that I would be able to make it although it would surely be an opportunity of a lifetime for me with Mark and the other experts there. However one of the things that I've learned over my many years is that "strange things happen in strange ways".
