Something's sad about a lone pink flipflop along a country road in winter.

Whew - I was worried from the title that you meant to post this in the Nekked Section

Well, at least I got your attention! Didn't occur to me that it might evoke another image!๐Ÿ˜‰

With 60 - 100 new topics in Gallery everyday, a catchy title is always a plus

I'm sorry I didn't comment earlier on the photo itself. The contrast between dirty pink, well worn flip flop lying in snow is definitely eye-catching. And as you suggested, it's kind of sad and the circumstances curious.

The ad that is showing right under the photo on my screen is for 2019's Most Stunning Bikinis.

Google sure is quick to pick up on things.

BTW - I sent you my address so you can return my flipflop.

It figures! Do I have to clean it first? It looks in good condition.

The way you described it as a little sad is a great start. It made me think about all the ways this image could stimulate the imagination. Since I've given up snow I saw it as sand and it involved the line, "Blew out my flip-flop, stepped on a pop top, cut my heel had to cruse back on home..." (J Buffett - Margaritaville). Seems others also saw other things. Sometimes these simple images say more than you think.

I was attracted to it by the remembrance if warm summer ling gone. And a tinge of memories of my little girl wearing pink flipflops on the beach 40 some years ago.

I hope you do not mind, but your memories of little feet in flip flops reminded me of ours..........found last year under our house. It was my little girls, over 38 years ago, and still had the band aid on the toe thing. It now hangs on the pegboard in our utility room.

That's sweet! I've moved more times than I can count but still find little mementos of my soon-to-be-50-year-old and 52-year-old here and there. Still tugs at my heart.
