I would like to inquire from experienced Florida Photographer's, where they would suggest going between Daytona and Melbourne on the East Coast to locate a great place to capture some, good Landscapes, good wildlife, and good Sunrise and Sunsets, I will be in New Smyrna Beach for a month in March, and have a new Wide angle lens I am anxious to put to work. Since I live in Michigan and am 69, Winter is NOT my favorite Photography season of the year.😊👍

I just checked that site for my city and it really misses the mark. It pointed out some very strange places that I would not consider photo ops and left out all of the best sites. I would not rely on the information provided there.

I figured it was a bit out the range (further North) than he was asking, but you are spot on. I grew up around there and St. Augustine is a beautiful place, especially this time of year.

There is an old member of UHH named Swamp Gator who no longer posts on UHH. His specialty was photographing, what else, but gators. He no longer posts here but if you pull him up you can see his website which might give you some ideas about locations. BTW, he is not restricted to gators. He likes to shoot those gators with a Canon and a 300mm f4, fyi.

I agree, it is well worth your time to go there for the bird rookery. I go there almost every year for the beautiful and varied big water birds of Florida. There are alot of the bird images from last season on my page here at UHH. You will not be disappointed.

Send me a PM when you get to the area. I live in Deland and photograph all over central FL, and would be happy to show you around a few places. The Canaveral seashore, Merritt Island NMR, Viera, etc are great suggestions, but there are "extra" areas to all the above you probably wouldn't find without some local guidance.
