It seemed Canon outnumbered other cameras 10-1 at the game last night... If you want to see some great shots check out Mark J Rebilas Photography on Facebook.

Also Peter Reid Miller has started his review of the new 1Dx3 on YouTube at the On Sports Photography page...

You seem lost. This is a photography site, where discussions about cameras are actually the whole point.

Below is a link where you can find out about the National Championship and where your comments might make sense.

Does any one known why Canon's cameras. Is Canon's company passing out free cameras, so it would get free adds during the game?

Canon has been making good EF mount lenses for thirty years now, and most every profession who shots sports has a fair bit of cash tied up in them.

It is probably more the awesome lens line up more than the bodies. And pro sports photographers are used to the 1D menus and layout. A competitor would have to do A LOT to overcome the learning curve to switch.

Canon has delivered bold solutions to the demanding professional photographic community since the introduction of the first Canon F-1 (35mm SLR camera) in 1971. In the ensuing 49 years between 1971 and 2020, the photographic world has seen seismic shifts in the way pictures are taken and viewed — and, not surprisingly, in what demanding professional photographers and serious photo enthusiasts want at the highest level of camera design and operation.

The late 1970s and early 1980s saw complete transitions in camera design from totally mechanical, manual cameras to electronic, auto exposure cameras. The late 1980s began a period of fundamental change from manual focus SLRs to an overwhelming acceptance of autofocus. And the early 21st century witnessed a near-complete shift from film-based, analog imaging to digital imaging.

Through it all, Canon has been there with professional cameras, targeting the working pro in fields as varied as photojournalism and sports, to studio portraiture and scientific work. ~ Rudy Winston, Canon USA, EOS 1DX III Introduction White Paper

Ford outnumbers all others
10:1 for police patrol cars.

Therefor I will ditch my Alfa
and get a Ford, but only the
big one ... not the smaller
high tech models.

How important is that to know?

I guess it makes Canon users feel better about themselves.

My first serious 35mm camera was a Canon ftb. To this day it was my favorite camera. When it locked up I went looking for a new Canon. The ones available at that time had all those scene selections on top of the camera and they were not my thing so I went with a Nikon 6006 and have been with Nikon ever since. As I compared Nikon crop cameras to Canon crop cameras, I believe that Nikon has Canon beat. That is why I bought my daughter a Nikon D7500. I really couldn't tell you about full frame, but I'm already in too deep to switch back.
