DUCK

I was actually out on a different photo shoot experiment. Anyway this Duck shows up with some friends and surrounds me. Now I am carrying my em5 mark ii sporting an 85 mm (that's 170mm in real) Nikon f1/8 lens with variable nd filter and set up to do very long exposures. Anyways, not exactly set up to take a picture of a Duck (very close to me). I had to change pretty much everything just to get the camera somewhat agreeable to take this shot. I must say the Duck was very patient with me. I was kind of happy with the results. Hope some of you like it :)

I like it very much. Nice work! I've been trying to get some photos of Black Bellied Whistling Ducks. I got some in flight finally but my portraits on the ground/water suck. I know it can be done...still trying.

Thanks I appreciate your taking a look. I am not a birder. I did get lucky a couple of times with ducks and Canada geese in flight. Ducks on the ground or in the water pose some interesting challenges, for which I have not had much success. Separating the duck from the background (getting the exposure right) Is a serious challenge. I did have some success when I used a flash (but no cigar). Good luck Happy Shooting :)

Well done. Your camera doubles the focal length?

yes. Camera is OM-D EM5 mark ii micro four thirds. The adjustment for the crop factor is 2x. I was using my Nikon 85mm f1.8 with an adaptor and an nd filter for the shoot I was there to do (Long exposure experiment). thanks for having a look. Have a good day :)
