An unplanned shoot

My sister had her 9 grandkids over for dinner at Christmas time and their folks asked for a group picture. I had no lights except for an on-camera flash and room lights and not much room to move around. Added to that was the bunch of uncooperative kids and one irritating father who thought he was helping. The first shot below is one of the many that are owed to the Dad. The second one is the best I could do after asking him to leave the room!

This one was planned - about 5 years ago when I did set up lights in umbrellas. Same kids less one who wasn't yet born.

I like all of them. Kids are wonderful and to capture them is always a treasure. These are all nice memory shots.

It is certainly great to have family portraits as children grow and change. Theses are life-long keepsakes and family history to be enjoyed for generations to come. I like the funny ones with the kids making faces!

Theses, however, do not qualify as advanced or professional portraiture. Good pictures- nice expressions.

My apologies for the error. I will delete if that's possible and avoid this topic in future.

Sorry fellow photographers - I shouldn't have posted this one in this Topic. Unfortunately I cannot see a way to delete it. Please ignore its presence here.

There is no need to delete this image or for you to not utilize this section. You have done more advanced and controlled work in the past and you should feel free to post it here for more advanced analysis in a workshop kind of environment. I have offered my critique, others may opine differently.

You got 9 kids to cooperate for a photograph, and you captured recognizable faces and pleasant expressions.

Maybe you will soon have a future opportunity to do a reshoot that is planned.
