This was taken this past fall in a botanical garden. I don't know what the plant is, but I loved the texture of its leaves.

May be Mahonia, Hugh, but not sure. I love everything about this shot from composition to clarity and color.

Thanks! The plant was very shrubby and three to four feet tall. The new leaves were a lovely green and the oldest a dusty blue-green.

And those leaves made for a beautiful shot. This could be what they call a "soft" mahonia without the "thorns" on the leaves like the one in our yard. I'm going to have to look it up.

Nope. Not a soft mahonia, but I'd love to know what it is. Hopefully someone will identify for us...
