An Inland Michigan Lake

Icy mix started falling as I was going home from a trip to Dollar General to stock up before the bad weather coming in, so I made a quick stop at Cedar Lake to keep up with my self-challenge to take a daily photo this year. Taken through the open passenger window while sitting on the driver's side (to avoid sleet coming in the window). Unlike some of you more hardy souls, I try to avoid driving on slippery roads.

I like it!! As it opened on my computer, the bottom was cropped out of my view at first, and I decided I liked it that way, without the grass, it was more moody, etc.

Thanks, I'm assuming you're talking about the photo and not the weather, LOL.

Thanks! You must live in the same area as I do - we're overdue for some January blasts!

Thanks for the suggestion, Sue! How about something like this? I also brought the dehaze and clarity down to enhance the mistiness.

I think I would have kept a bit more of the bottom, and left the dehaze/clarity where it was. I found my eye exploring the details that now I cannot see in this version.

Thanks, Charles - my son lives in Arlington - you're a little warmer than we are now that winter is finally catching us!

About as cold as New York, Jerry, but not nearly as much snow so far this winter (one inch yesterday over a thin glaze of sleet. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Ice fishermen are out of luck so far this year.
