I only purchased the lens and adapter as I have a nice assortment of lenses already.

IMHO, you will only realize the full benefits of the Z series when you use some of the new S lenses. The kit lens, the 24-70 F4, is a great start. Best of luck.

All of your past garbage, sure.
The rest of us are better then that !

You who barely exist would claim to speak for
a body that you refer to as "The rest of us" ? ? ?
ROTFLMFAO

And who pray tell, might be such "rest of us" ?
The idea there be more of you is appalling.

Tho there may be more bodies, there still
remains but that one common mind.

Their S 35mm 1.8 is one of the sharpest lenses that I have, distortion free and very light. I suspect that I have fallen in love with this lens. It makes my Z6 the best street camera that I have ever had!

I don’t know if it’s a case of gas, seeing the writing on the wall, or both. I’m seriously looking into getting a Z6. I’ll keep my D750, at least for now, for sports shooting.

I want to know if anyone has gone from a D750 to a Z6 and if so what your thoughts are on the switch. I have the $, so that is not a factor. I will be selling my D7200 equipment, though, as it will only collect dust with the addition of the Z6.

Thanks for your comments,
Dana

I added Z6 to my D750 back in March 2019 and I am very happy I did. The plan was to use D750 in the studio and to travel with Z6. So far the plan worked out very well. I love the size and the weight of Z6, the ability to see the result of the chosen exposure parameters in a viewfinder, the ergonomics, the IBIS, the absence of the need for a fine-tuning of lenses (finally!) and the superiority of S lenses over F lenses. I got the excellent 24-70 f4 with the camera and it stays on it most of the time. I recently bought Z 50mm f1.8 and it's simply amazing. It is certainly sharper than the AF-S 50mm f1.8 that I also have. In two weeks I will be cruising to Hawaii and South Pacific islands and I am planning to take D750 with me as well, just to have a spare body. I will take with me the FTZ and AF-S 16-35 and AF-P 70-300. I have not decided yet whether I will use these lenses via FTZ on Z6 or on directly on D750. I will play it by ear. I had the same setup (except S 50mm) with me last year on the Panama Canal cruise that took me to Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico. It worked very well.

Can you fly to the moon???

Yes, and back as well. Plus, the
only images we have of the far
side of the moon were made by
direct imaging, no mirrors need
apply. But then, you KNEW that.

Dana, I just finished listening to Steve Perry's
podcast (voice only) address this question. His
take is that absent a specific, compelling reason
for an individual's photographic concentration,
it is still early to consider a wholesale switch to
mirror less.

Plain as day. Inferior cameras lead to bad habits

A good photographer can use any camera and
take a great photo, a piss poor photographer
will make an excuse for being piss poor.

Just to be clear about this:

That is all. Nothing more. Anything more is
added by someone else's careless editing.

I personally would never parrot all that crap
about "good photographer can ... blah blah
blah blah"
and so I don't appreciate having
such clap-trap attributed to my username by
someone's careless keyboarding.

I guess the staff of Photography Life did not read that review. They switched and sold off their DSLR gear several months back. There were some great deals on used gear available!

I love my D5600 and have all the lenses I need for it. The ergonomics are similar to the Z6 (touch screen) except for front wheel and it probably weighs less than Z50 plus adapter. Although the two new lenses for it look good.

It probably does much better at high ISO than my D5600.

Probably so but the D5600 is a darn nice camera that produces wonderful images.
