In general, this is a great bunch of people who’s common interest is taking pictures.

You must have just gotten here. You keep on reading and you'll see that not everyone is as kind and respectful as you think. But ignore those and move on to the more kind and encouraging replies and you'll be ok. Sometimes it takes thick skin here. Welcome to UHH.

Social media can be a wonderful thing but, it's no replacement for a couple few good books on photography.

I also appreciate the genuine helpfulness of most UHH-ers. We should have some sort of "I will try not to be a curmudgeon" clause in the registration procedure.

I've learned a lot from UHH. I have no formal photography training, I'm just teaching myself. And I've benefitted so much from other people's advice and comments. Add humor and just plain being nice to the knowledge factor and this is the place to be!
