Leaving the Hook to collect wife from her exercise session there was a fantastic play of morning sun on clouds. With no place to pull over I could only drive and hope to find a stopping place before the light shifted. Finally came to a parking lot, pulled in and took a shot of what light there was over an intervening hillside. Turned out I missed the light I wanted, but I'll settle for the silhouette.

Thank you, Carol. It sure had an impact on me when I saw it on the monitor screen back home!

Catching that line of clouds was pretty lucky too.

R.G., everything about this shot was luck. "...even a blind squirrel..."

Nice .... and just maybe more serendipitous
than you realized. The shot you wanted, but
couldn't park your vehicle in time, may very
well have been way beyond the DR capture
ability of most, or all, sensors. But the scene
you caught minutes later, with a hidden sun,
appears quite cooperative, DR-wise.

Just guessing on my part. Very nice work on
your part :-)

Thank you for this comment, User. There was some of the light I was after, but the camera did not capture it. Your surmise may well be accurate.

Very nice photograph.

This photograph supports the argument that you should always travel with your camera and know how to use it.

Thanks, Dave. My motto, "never leave the house without the camera".
