why is it grainy

Some of my pictures have turned grainy and a lot of the birds have a purple outline. My lens is on tight so I am at a total loss. Vety frustrated. All help VERY appreciated!

Where have you been Lady Cougar..don't know what you're shooting but high ISO and white balence might be the problem!

Been veery busy- see our thread. White balance & I aren't getting along at all.

The purple fringing is chromatic aberration & can be reduced by stopping down your aperture....Graininess is likely due to underexposure or too high of an ISO for the camera to handle...Try to stop down a bit more & use a tripod when shooting in low light...

Thank you. Guess I need to get back in practice. Did use tri but had a stiff breeze.

Your eyes aren't old. I thought they were half-way decent until I magnified them.

Thank you, tainkc. I was please until I REALLY looked. Caught it on "auto" and it looked somewhat better.

To me ck, they are great shots, I don't see anything wrong, #2 is stunning

Could be lens quality for the chromatic abberation I used to get this a lot when I used an old lens from my f55 on my d50... light waves dont focus on a single spot white colours normally make it worse along fringes. Is it a dedicated Digital lens
