Today I was going to print a few Christmas photos on my Pro100 and they came out with a lot of reds and no blacks, grays, etc. so I knew I had to run a nozzle check. The nozzle check showed that none of the Group 2 inks were coming through (black, grays, cyan). So I ran a cleaning cycle on this group, followed by another nozzle check....no change. This was followed by 2 deep cleanings and nozzle checks and still nothing shows in that group.
At this point, two of my inks are down to the point that they will soon need replaced, and I don't have a spare lt-gray to replace it. This problem has happened twice before and I was able to get it going after a deep cleaning.
Any ideas what I should do now? Do I need a head replacement?
At the risk of sounding brusque, have you called Canon? I've always had good luck talking directly with them re: my Pro-10 (and my camera). They walked me thru a WiFi problem, and another time when I had a strange color issue (I somehow had set the "plain paper" option). I also keep my printer ON, unless I'm going away for more than a few days or there are T-storms in the forecast.
How old is your printer, how may prints have you printed and are you using canon ink, the reason if you have not damaged your printer and use canon ink you should have trouble free printing for years. I have a Canon PIXMA PRO 9000 MKII that I bought new from B & H PHOTO when it was at the end of the product run, Canon was coming out with three new photo printers, I have printed tons of prints with no problem. I just finished a photo shoot that I printed 18 8 x 10 and a few 11 x 17 inch prints, no issues, when I am done printing the printer goes back into the box that it was shipped in.

I did call Canon and was walked through a procedure that we were able to get it running again. Now I have to get more inks so I can keep going. lol
Actually, I'm also thinking of purchasing another Pro 100 printer. B&H has them on sale till 12/31 for around $400, less $50 and also a mail-in rebate which would bring the price down to around $160. Also included is 50 sheets of 13x19 paper.

What was wrong ... how did you fix it ?
I don't know what was wrong. The girl had me take out all of the inks, pull out the printhead and check it for any damage. Then put everything back in. After that she had me pushing the two power buttons and looking for different codes. Finally, I had to put in a plain sheet of paper, and when it printed it was a nozzle check and everything was OK.

Did you have the printing set to draft? Or Standard?
My P-100 is 5 years old and still works flawlessly.
A little bit mystifying, but one caution I would add is never use 3rd party inks on the Pro100/Pro10/Pro1000. I've been using Canon printers for a very long time and never experienced that issue. When i upgraded printers, I gave my Pro9000 to my youngest daughter and she's still using it.

Buy an HP printer. I have a Canon printer and regret ever buying the damned thing. I don't appreciate the program it installed on my computer when I installed the driver that captures photos I download and I haven't figured out a way to get them out of the program. I have bought my last Canon printer. It is almost like I am being held hostage.
If anyone is having problems with a Canon printer I suggest you call 1-800-OK-CANON.

For serious photo printing HP isn’t even close to Canon. Don’t denigrate the company because of your own shortcomings.
I have 4 yo pro 100. It's the best printer I have ever owned. A few months ago one color stopped working. Test pattern showed no ink from one nozzel. I called Cannon. They said it sounds like a bad circuit in the print head. They sent me a replacement at no charge. Best customer service ever!
