I have been busy th last few months and have not posted much so I thought I better get with it.

Here is a set of images from a recent veteran session. Navy pilot, 90 years old and sharp as can be. Man, did he have some stories!
Camera is a Nikon D850, 70-200 f/2.8 at 110mm and f/7.1, ISO 160

I have a few more vets I will post soon.

Fabulous series Cliff... masterful illumination... compelling pose dynamics... superb renderings.
Your attention to detail is stellar... especially with wardrobe styling.
You certainly raise the bar very high in this section...
Wonderful to have working professionals sharing their craft here...

Many thanks for the inspiration... it is truly appreciated!

Thanks Thomas! I have to admit the "wardrobe styling" consists of me telling them bring to the session things and clothing that has meaning to their story. My only direction is that it has to be long sleeves and medium to dark tones. More than a few have had to suck in a stomach a bit to get the dang uniform blouse to fit!

Cliff, as usual your photos are just of unbelievable quality. I would so love to visit your studio and watch your before and after work. Ever consider doing a video?

Thanks for the kind words, but everything I do is explained in books and videos already out there. All I would do is just repeat what others have already done. Also, there is the case of individual style and that is how any one person takes that basic knowledge and applies it. You cannot teach that as—at least in my opinion—it is just something that develops over time. Over the years I have been taught by or influenced by: Fuzzy Duenkel, Tim Walden, Edward Steichen, Tim Kelly, Joseph Zeltzman, Joel Grimes, Chris Knight, Edward Stieglitz, Don Chick, Glyn Dewis...and probably a few others. Everything I have learned from them is mixed into my work somewhere.
