I was washing dishes in my kitchen which overlooks a storage lot behind my house here in Okeechobee Florida when I saw this beautiful hawk float down to perch on top of the light pole behind my house. This is the first time I'm seeing this beauty up close. I quickly grabbed my Nikon D3200 with a 70-300mm lens to capture this shot. This really made my day.
It would make mine too. Very nice.
Very good capture, Ladell.
Pretty common in my neighborhood, each day while walking the dog I see them and often throughout the day I hear them all over the neighborhood squawking as the do, they prove to be angry birds but it may be territorial infringement that excites them as it is not uncommon to see six or seven of them within the immediate area of my home. One morning while walking my dog I saw one swoop down and dive into a small palm bush and come out with a bird in its talons, kind of sad to witness but that is how nature works, they eat other birds, squirrels, rabbits and other small animals.
Nice! I am sure that capturing this was more fun than washing dishes!
What a great shot. Well done.
