I don't know if the cartoonist intended this, but I found this funny twice.
That's a good one. Who doesn't like B. C?
I thought the self-decorating dog was funny, but in BC times, I doubt they celebrated the birth of Christ - "Before Christ." : )
I didn’t even find it funny once! Didn’t understand it!
I always like B. C. even as a kid. I seem to remember seeing the strip (years ago) as "B. C. by Johnny Hart." Am I right or is it just another example of a senior with too many trivial memories blurring together?

You are correct - Johnny Hart was the creator of B. C. and drew the strip until he died in 2007.

Not many people are aware of this, but Johnny Hart, who created the strip was extremely an religious Christian. In fact there were times that his strips were pulled from various papers because he was actively proselytizing and there were complaints from other religions about some of the things he included in the strip. I used to read his strip all the time when I was younger but it got a little overly religious in the late 1980's. (My personal favorite was a character named Clumsy Carp.)

I understand it that most people are non reasoning dolts. I found it not a bit funny.

One of my dogs loves it when packages get delivered. He sniffs at the box and watches me open it. Then I have to show him what's inside and let him sniff it. Then he's satisfied. Maybe he ordered something from Amazon, and he's waiting for it to arrive.
Get it or not... who cares?

I don't get it either.
1. The curious dog goes into the bag with the Christmas decorations. As he leaves, they stick to him.
2. B. C., the comic strip, is referencing Christmas, but "B. C." means "Before Christ." They're celebrating a holiday that hasn't happened yet.
