Hey Hedgehogs, it’s time for another Weekly Photo Challenge.

The challenges are simple. You start you off with a theme, but where you take it is up to you! The twist is that everyone needs to submit a short statement along with their photo that explains the ‘who, what, where, why, when or how’ they went through to get it. This helps us ‘feel’ the moment as they did, but can also help with voting. You might also find some great tips to make you better. These are more about challenging yourself than worrying that your photo isn’t good enough so everyone is invited especially those who want to improve.

Now for the legal stuff: (Please Note The Changes)
- Contests start Friday mornings and end Wednesday evenings
- NEW: Voting starts Thursday morning and ends Friday evening - 2 Day Voting!
- One entry per user, but if you need an update send a Private Message
- NEW: Entries may only be used once. Repeats will be rejected.
- All entries must include a photo and MUST include statement as noted above. Untitled will be rejected.
- Post processing is fine, butplease keep it to the absolute minimum
- Archived photos are not encouraged - please shoot your photo during the challenge
- Everyone gets one vote - if you vote more than once see below *
- Once voting starts there can be no additional entries
- To keep it fair, the user names and vote counts are hidden until voting is over and winners are announced. All votes are anonymous
- And of course, the rules are subject to change as the challenges require

I always wonder whether anybody pays attention to the point:
"- Archived photos are not encouraged - please shoot your photo during the challenge"
Seems to me that there must be a lot of archive pulling, since pics get entered for which people have surely gone well out of their way.
In examining the EXIF data for 7 entries of the current contest, I found that 3 were "current", 3 had old creation dates, and 1 had a fake current date. hmmm... I do have some killer archive photos for "mirror mirror"...

It is sometimes difficult to find a situation to photograph for the challenge, but we do have a week to do it. It is, after all, a challenge. If one isn't able to accomplish it within that week, perhaps in keeping with the intent, one should not submit a photo by simply pulling it out of the archives. There is no challenge in that. I know, I've done it myself and have since simply not submitted one if I didn't have it. Whether I have one to submit or not, I always support those who do, and vote. Trouble is, my vote gets into fractions as we have such great submissions.

I have seen several of the photos already
and see one person actually indicate the long ago date
of a pic that was scanned to use here..hahaha
i dont think peeps bother to read the rules.

wonder what would happen if pics taken prior to the post for the contest were removed...very likely to narrow the vote...

I saw your pics.. It's an awesome place isn't it? I tried Pennhurst but I couldn't get past the gatekeeper..made me empty my card or else they would press charges for criminal tresspassing. I opted to empty my card.
