Her name is "Princess", and that she is..
What is your title supposed to mean. As a portrait, the shot is mediocre, at best.
Nice shot but just a little too much shadow!
Thank you RichinSeattle, for your professional rating of "mediocre at best" on my "White on White" photo. I being a mediocre photographer, I'm taking your comment as a compliment. What I don't understand, (you being a professional critique on photos), is that you cannot relate my photo to the title?? In any event, my thanks again for your professional rating. Cheers, Malvin
Malvin, I am far from an expert, but I think this would look better if you could lighten the shadow on Princess’s face to see at least a little detail.
I agree with the above comments (but not Rich's). It has alot of potential if lightened a bit.

Mal, I'm not a professional - at anything. Been retired for many years, but I can still see. And, I still don't understand your title. Your pic is of a young, black girl standing in front of a white birch tree. She seems to be very pretty (I love the pink barrette in her carefully coifed hair), but who can really tell, when most of her face is in deep shadow. So, the tree is white; are you saying that the girl is also white?!! Maybe, it's you who can't see.
I'm reminded of the hit song written and sung by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney - "Ebony and Ivory." It uses the piano - and music - as a metaphor for life; all piano keys (and people) are important and necessary for a successful society. Perhaps, not seeing a pretty, little black girl as "white" but as pretty in her own right, might better help you see the beauty of our diverse and complex society. Just a thought.
Dear Katydid and NMGal, Being somewhat antiquated and still using film, I have to accept what the film sees. I have no idea of how one could lighten the shadows of the photo. Please take the time to go back and view other photos that I posted of Princess. They are under the titles, "Alone in her thoughts",, "Princess",, "Captivating",, and "A Mona Lisa smile". Many thanks for your comments, Malvin

Morning Malvin, Would love to see her little face. There has to be a shy or coy smile to match the look in her eye. You have left us wanting more of her personality. Enjoyed!

I was thinking maybe the wee bit of the white of her eye.
Good morning to you CSand, Many thanks for your comments, especially for seeing the reason for my choice of the title. Thanks again, Malvin
I like this shot, it's striking. I hope you continue to see and shoot your way. I would like to see it framed.

I have to agree with you Rich, it is just not a good image. No-one has explained the W/W titles logic or lack of it . Malvin is just a bit thin/Skined and already defensive. Malvin, your images have so far been just O.K. This one is NOT!! Get over it and move on. Oh by the way , why not explain why you called this image “ white omnWhite”..RJM

Are you saying that she is keeping her eye on the whites? I don't understand this either. I'm sure some people might get the same impression because of your response to CSand.
