Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbour reportedly wrote in his diary, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve...” he was correct!
Thanks for the pics.
I've never seen the #2 view... from above. I understand it better now.

My sisters husband sat on the lawn with his mother and watched his father plunge to is death. His father was a fighter pilot. He was 18 mo old and knew his dad's plane. - Dave
I was on a troop ship heading to Korea, when we stopped at Pearl to pick up some parts. As we passed the Arizona, the emotion rose in almost everyone who was able to view the monument. Thanks for the tribute.

Nicely done history of the USS Arizona. I often wondered how many people know about the attack on Pearl harbor and remember that "Date of Infamy"?

I was 11 years old in the August before before the attack. I was sitting in my grandfather's easy chair by his GE console radio - probably listening to the Shadow or some such program - when President FDR broke in and told us about the attack and the "Day of Infamy." My uncle's best friend was a an Army radio operator in Pearl Harbor when the attack took place. Coincidentally he was stationed in Seoul Korea when the North Koreans attacked.
