I am sure most of you are familiar with the "Painted Ladies" of San Francisco. But, for those of you who are not, here are some of the more beautiful ones. The more garishly they were painted, the richer the owners were. If you have any of your own painted ladies, please do post here. I welcome other pictures, and comments.

I love San Francisco (but not the people who run it). The weather is great, the setting is awsome and it is a very diverse city.

My grandfather was born in SF. As a newborn he was left on the doorstep of a house like those in your photos. The house was on Lake St. and the homeowners went on to permanently foster my grandfather. They named him John Lake. Maybe someday I will have one of the street signs.

Good shots of great old homes. Love the gingerbread on some of them.

thanks everyone. I enjoy posting so that others hopefully come back with postings of their own. I don't mind anyone adding their own shots to my thread too. I also enjoy hearing from people whether they like my shots or even if they don't, or how i may enhance the pictures. Any comments are extremely welcome.

I love them all, but especially the design of #6. Have you ever toured the inside of them?
