This is another photo of the "Juvenile Sharp Shin Hawk" that crashed into my house, knocking it's self silly. It stood in my yard for about four hours, blinking and shaking it's head. It finally recovered and flew off. It gave me a long opportunity to photograph it. I used a big tripod and a 600mm f/4 lens. I never had to leave the house as I took this photo through my closed multi pained storm window.

I have done some PP to the image since I first took it a couple of weeks ago. Please take the time to see the download image.

Wonderful subject, well placed in the frame, tac-sharp, great color, and great background separation.
I Love this pic!

Your PP shows detail, clarity, texture and good separation. Nice job behind the lens and at the PC. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for taking the time to download it. I love this old Minolta lens. They impart a warm color that many newer lenses seem to lack.

Your windows must be spotless. That's a heck of a shot. Gary

Nicely done. I had one just barely miss my door last week. He veered off into a Gaardenia bush next to my front porch.

I did open the window just long enough to wash it on both sides with a paper towel. LOL

I was worried about about it. I thought about covering it with something to keep it warm or called someone. I was also worried that that a fox or something might run out of the woods and eat it. I really did not know the right thing to do? I decided to just let nature take it's course, but photograph it in the mean time.

It worked out.

Thank you. I must confess to using a judicious amount of adaptive de-convolution. I used DxO, PS, and Topaz in post processing.
