planepics Loc: St. Louis burbs, but originally Chicago burbs

The news was from the STL area. Actually, there had been a terrorist shooting in a mall a day or two before I left for Israel, but our tour wasn't going anywhere near the area. Israel had only about 5% of the violence as America (military all over the place with Uzis??). I was surprised when I had to go through a 2nd metal detector/search at the jetway before getting on to the Delta flight from JFK-TLV. I didn't know if it was just a standard procedure or not, but I know that Israel has some of the most secure airports in the world. I grew up about 30-or so miles NW of Chicago (Arlington Heights). I enjoyed taking the CNW commuter to Wrigley, Navy Pier, etc.
