There is a neat place, Cold Spring Tavern, on Stagecoach Road in Santa Barbara. This is an old road that makes a loop off San Marcos Pass Road (hwy 154), in the hills above Santo Barbara.

Below is Copied from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Spring_Tavern
Photos are mine, taken with Nikon D7200 and 18-140 lens.

Cold Spring Tavern was established as a stagecoach stop in 1865. Originally known as the "Cold Spring Relay Station", it was a horse changeover and meals break station. The tavern is located 20 minutes north of Santa Barbara, California in Cold Spring Canyon, which is about a mile off Highway 154 along Stagecoach Road (in the San Marcos Pass area).

Frank,

I like the “looking up the creek” shot. I like the way the fence curves into the light and then leads the viewer’s eye into the background.

Thanks for looking Carol. Sounds like you have been there. And yes the food is great they used to serve all kinds of stuff, crocodile, rabbit, a lot of wild game. This time I had the special around the ravioli stuffed with crab in a bisque and it was delicious. And of course sitting by the fire with the wife eating is romantic. We had a good time.

Thanks for looking Ralph. That one is one of my favorites also but I also like the one above it.

Frank, thanks for posting these photos. A good friend who lives in Santa Barbara took me there for dinner about 15 years ago and was a memorable experience. She reserved the table right smack in front of the fireplace, and yes it is a romantic place for dinner. Food was exceptional. I often think of Cold Spring and hope to go back some day. Sorry I didn’t shoot any photos of it when I was there. Enjoyed your photos.

Great pictures of an interesting area. I was born (January 1928) and raised in Santa Barbara, graduated from UCSB in 1950 and immediately went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation on the construction of Cachuma Dam, so I've driven the old road - past that spot - many, many times. I haven't been back in a long time - since the new road was built, so never have seen the green bridge. Did you get on up to Solvang during your travel; lots of photo opportunities there!

Excellent series you documented very well, Frank. Used to go there occasionally when we lived in So. California...probably been over 30+years.

Thanks for looking goober. Glad you like them and that it brought back memories. The food is always exceptional there as is the scenery. I do hope you make it back again if it's still there this cave far may take it out it's already closed the highway and I think it took out part of the bridge for the mudslides caused by the reins during the fire.

Thanks for looking Lauren. there's a lot of good photo ops in that area specially around that late I wish I had time to stop but my brother-in-law was driving and we barely had time to stop at the Cold Creek tavern then we decided eat while we were there and it put us two hours behind time, but it was well worth it.

Glad you enjoyed them.
