The Tokina 16-28mm is good value, and it works very well.

Why not the excellent Nikkor 14-24 f2.8? It's part of the so called "holy trinity" of Nikkor zooms, and is an outstanding piece of glass in its own right.

For the money, Jerry's suggestion above of the Tokina sounds like a winner. Certainly worth consideration.

I am selling a Rokinon 14 mm F2.8 lens for $250 plus shipping. It was suggested to me by a B&H man. It is a manual lens, works great. I have used it for photographing the milky way.

I am also selling a Nikon 28-300, it is a great walk around lens.

pm me if interested

Like a dope I paid a lot more for a Nikon 16-35. I should have looked into the Tokina as it would have been around $600 less expensive than its Nikon cousin but the Nikon is still good glass.

One is never a dope for purchasing a Nikon lens.

Well......I guess I could have waited and got a refurb 16-35 from Nikon. Anyways, I like the internal zoom feature of the Nikon 16-35 and it is VR and N as well. Not sure about the Tokina cousin.
