This is the second of three sets; here is the first set:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-620624-1.html As I was making my coffee to take with me on the drive to catch the morning light, I noticed fallen leaves from the apricot tree in our backyard and took the first photo. It's a good thing I did it then, because when I got back our gardener had mowed the back lawn and the leaves were gone. The final set will be of a walk near our house.
Nice series Dennis ... interesting how different the climate is between where you live & where I live ... I was out plowing snow this morning ... so this & your 1st post were nice distractions. A couple of those shots make it look very dry out there. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind comment Frank and I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. It certainly is different here and very dry currently. Our rainy season is typically October through late April or early May. We are supposed to get our first real rain tomorrow evening and are looking forward to it. It gets very green in the winter and into spring. I cleaned out our gutters and covered our firewood yesterday, with temperatures in the 70s. We have been in our house for 42 years and have had snow once, about 1-2 inches. We live at the bottom of a 3,848' mountain that typically gets snow about 3 times a year. Here's a post from March:

Thank you Jim; I'm glad you enjoyed my photos.

That's not snow ... that looks a heavy frost!!!! ;) But I hear you ... as I get older, I seem to enjoy warmer weather more.

Roger that on getting older. I also find that I can't tolerate heat as much. Our normal summer here is 85-105 (though we don't have high humidity). I used to think nothing of working in the yard at 100 or so; not any longer.

You did a good job photographing the fall colors that were available to you. But all the scenes are quite pedestrian in my opinion.
Nice set Dennis. We do have seasons!

Thank you for your comments and the affirmation of my photography. If I had been able to get away for a whole day like I did last year and get into the Sierras during the peak of the colors, I would likely have gotten more dramatic colors. However, these were the best in my local area and I believe there is beauty all around. Also, I love a good twisty road, this is an excellent one and it happens to be very close to home; I tried to capture that. Also, if I lived where the fall colors were more spectacular, it would almost certainly be in a much less desirable climate.

Thank you Mark. Yes we do have seasons, they are just a little more "subtle" than much of the country. I'll take "subtle" over "dramatic" to live in. "Dramatic" is only a 3-4 hour drive away.
