Hi Mark, this is Bill 45 I sold you some cameras back in early March. I have no cameras this time. Good to see you are still with us. Just wanted to said hi. Bill45

Bill,

You are my favorite person at UHH. Seriously. The cameras were magnificent and way more than I anticipated. I want you to know too that not only will they be used by students, but we are in the process of making a small museum with my 80+ cameras that will be on display when not being used in the classroom and will include yours in there as well. Once I get it set up, I will contact you privately and get your e-mail to send you photos. Additionally, I will place a notice naming you as a donor. You should have seen me hauling a wooden 8X10, WW2 era KA2, your cameras and a few of mine back to China. It was ridiculous hand carrying all of it and I even pulled a ligament in my left shoulder due to the weight. I hand-carried the body of the 8X10 (150 years old) and the airlines even let me board early and stowed it in a special compartment for me. United and Japan Airlines were amazing.

Am really excited to be able to tell you this and thank you once again for your patience and contribution!

Cordially,

Mark

Ah-ha!
Perhaps a lesson on "Uses of Photography"... from artistic to medical, to political to documentary evidence for forensics... on an on... Big Topic!

We actually do this. In China, you can still get a lot of the old, odd film types, so some of the cameras can "come alive" once again. But again, we DO NOT have a darkroom, so the students get it processed at labs. I think I also mentioned this earlier, but we show "period" cameras when we talk about the history. For example, if we are discussing World War 2, I bring out the KA2 and a Kodak Medalist, which was used by the Navy and also worked as an enlarger- multipurpose is good when you have little room on a small ship. And when I use the old, wooden 8x10 and show students that it still works, they are mesmerized and it keeps them keenly interested. And I have to tell you, I just LOVE seeing their reactions.
