This sounds like a really nice event.
But I must wonder;
Who are the 'California Officials' ?
Who really cares ?
What do they do and does the show really need them ?
I would to go to this event but I because , well I'll leave it at that.

The Governor, and the rest of the State Elected Officials. But, mainly the CARB, (California Air Resources Board), which sets the standards for auto emissions. We have Wildfires annually that burn for weeks. I realize they are natural disasters. But, the Air Quality gets so bad, people are hospitalized for severe respiratory ailments. Every year.

Surely that makes it even more important to cut back on emissions wherever and when ever we can?

I first went to southern California in 1969, San Diego and area. In 2000 I was in the San Francisco are and up and down the coastal area and all around the eastern side of the state. It is a real tragedy. This is the most perfect and beautiful state in the nation for me but so F****d up I could not live nor even visit there now.
So, I hope these people do not spoil the car show.
As far as the wild fires. Well I read years ago, maybe 30 or so, that a wild life expert was saying that this is going to get worse as more people move into the areas and the stupid California policies of management is destroying the natural forest environment leading to these fires igniting the large trees.
I regret saying but they created their own disasters.

Are there gasoline combustion engines in the UK. I'm curious what the emissions standards are there?

The UK is a s***hole and example of textbook failure of socialist influxed policies. Just look at many of the replies from the UK and also Canadian members here.

I remember the Volkswagen emissions scandal of 2015. On April of 2017, a federal judge ordered Volkswagen to pay $2.8 Billion in criminal fines. For rigging diesel powered vehicles to cheat emissions tests. It was a tip that got VW busted. And, the federal EPA and the California Air Resources Board, worked together at that time, to make sure that VW never does that again in the USA. I never heard of any lives lost because of the scandal.

what ever you are smoking,snorting eating or drinking. You need should look at what it has done to you.
The United States has done more for emissions and Earth health than anyone. You clowns on that little island call the UK have no idea. Who ever VW is I do not know nor care.
