Data yes! Can be slow process. USB 3 is GREAT but probably NOT in the older L/T.
They DO have USB-USB cross-connect cables (JM Tech Crossbox or newer models) that do a good job of direct transfer WITHOUT extra software.
PROGRAMS should be re-installed for a clean system. Too many old program stubs will slow down your NEW computer!
