Someone sent me a video link awhile back about a border collie that knew the names of dozens of its toys. They tested her ability to reason by telling her to go fetch a toy by an unknown name. They had placed this "unknown" toy into her pile without her seeing. She came back once without anything, but the second time they gave her the command, she looked through the pile and picked out the foreigner. I thought that was quite amazing.
