The tedium of commuting on the London Underground.
That’s a double bass... or bass violin. Not base. Base is for ball players.

I generally like this image. The expressions and isolated activities of people on the cell phones or staring off into space is typical of a subway riders. I only wish you were a bit to your left when you took the shot. The individual on the right seems to dominate the image. The bass player for me gets lost in the background.
Since I'm still thinking about how to do a discussion topic on titles and descriptive words vs. "a photo should stand on its own," I got a great chuckle from this image after being enticed by the title
(and that was before my cuppa, so I didn't catch the base vs. bass. Or maybe I'm just missing MLB season...)
I love that everyone is scrunched tightly into the frame, as they would be in the subway, and not a soul cares about the sleepwalker or the musician. Super photo, Graham!

Thank you Frank, when you are packed like sardines you have to take the best clear shot you can

You're absolutely correct on your observation. Of course I had that in my mind, but never got down to my fingers to convey that idea. My short term memory keeps getting shorter each passing day.

I forget things very quickly, remember them a bit later and then my long term memory loses it.

Thanks Linda, I did ponder on the title, something along the lines of "Is that an elephant in the room?" But in the end I
based my title on the fact that it is a double bass in the room.
When I read the title I wasn't sure if it referred to a ball hit to the opposite field against the wall or a couple of misspelled fishes. Turns out it some guy sneaking his friend past the toll. Ha!
In the end though, I do like the image
I like the depth perception--leading lines on the left to the bass and the man on the right stopping the eye at the instrument.

Captures the idea of "tedium" very well. Also the hassles of having to use your back as a car trunk. (I think you say boot). I like this photo very much.
