Found this jumping spider on a big tree. Canon 100mm macro. Harsh lighting conditions. Handheld. Comments for improvement appreciated!

Yes, I believe it's a bold jumper (Phidippus audax). I was delighted to find several of these on a huge tree in a field. And I found two more jumpers on a large rock -- pictures to come! I wish I would have brought them home as pets!

Oh My..! Jumpers make me weak in the knees when I see them for they are so cute. They are without a doubt the most photogenic subjects. Who can resist those large headlight eyes and wild hair-day look.

You did a great job and thanks for sharing.

👍 You can catch them, and they do make interesting pets. Catching can be tricky since they are elusive.
In case it is necessary to know, they are not at all inclined to bite.

I don't think they will bite as long as they don't feel threatened! They are so darn cute. Next time I will bring some empty prescription bottles in my camera bag.

Nice. Try for better focus on eyes as opposed to legs.

Yeah, I was unhappy with the blurry eyes. The darn things are so tiny and sometimes don't stand still very long. Not to mention the condition of my eyes!!! Thanks Jeff -- I have room for improvement there!
