This is one of my favorite wild flowers, unfortunately, I don't know what it's called. I do know it's against the law to pick, uproot or destroy in the state of California.
It's found along major highways and many back roads in the most unlikely places. The flowers of this plant are huge; perhaps the largest in this area

My thought is that it is Jimson weed of the nightshade family and toxic.

By the way, fine use of eye, composition, and exposure on the road side.

Thank you! I use a Canon PowerShot S95. I did PP with PScs3.
Tweeked the levels a bit and used the high pass filter.

Loco weed I've heard of but never knew what it looked like.

thought loco weed was legal in California...
