The evolution of the iPhone camera continues...
I recently got the new iPhone 11 Pro, with it's new camera system. I've seen some Youtube videos where wedding and boudoir photographers shot with both their regular camera and then the new phone, and the results were quite interesting. I even saw a comparison of the phone in it's "night mode" compared to a full frame Nikon, and in many of the shots I preferred the photo from the phone!
While it certainly won't replace my regular cameras, it sure is handy to pull it out of my pocket for an impromptu shot when it strikes my fancy. I wanted to show you all a few tricks built into the new system...all of these are straight out of the camera and the crazy thing is that you can go into the editing portion of the system and change these looks AFTER THE FACT! While they may not be looks that you would use often they are interesting nevertheless (and yes, the aperture is adjustable from 1.4-16). BTW, the originals are 12 mp
Yes the newer iPhones can take some great pictures and yours prove that point.
I guess I should have mentioned, the original of the last picture DID have a normal background before I changed the setting in the phone, here it was...
...and you managed to get yourself in the shot too, perhaps the perfect frame for a self portrait? lol!
Ha, not intentionally, but always a challenge with mirrored sunglasses :)
Try using the same guidelines as shooting anyone with glasses, get your model to angle her head slightly, so the glasses aren't square on to lens. But the images are a good demonstration of how much better and more capable modern camera phones are, another nail in the compact camera coffin and even SLRs need to be worried.
No question phone cameras and separate cameras are merging to a point quality of photos will be hard to distinguish. Although not the quality of your new phone, for the first time in my travels I used my phone for over 180 photos recently in Egypt because in a number of cases - tombs in Valley of the Kings, Tut's Tomb & mummified body, a mummified crocodile museum, and inside the Pyramids in Giza - ONLY cell phone camera use was allowed.
These all need a shallower DOF. Snapshots.

In the first shot of illustration her nose & face are in focus while her left arm & breast are not. Just curious how much shallower you would recommend?

I didn't respond to him, but my first thought was "maybe he doesn't read English"... :)

If the portrait feature on the iPhone 11 Pro was used, then the depth of field can simply be adjusted on a slider. That can be done post, and adjusted at any time.

DOF can be adjusted in post but it is an involved procedure no matter what camera was used for capture.
