Photographer takes hard hit in Georgia-Auburn game.
I've learned over the years that whenever a player is making eye contact with me, it's time to duck and roll because the ball is coming my way. I sure hope this girl is ok. A knee is a lot worse than the ball.

I took a knee beneath the facemask my junior year. Made the tackle, but spent a lot of time at the dentist as a result. Next year I had a better face mask.
Somebody should make a photographer’s sideline helmet for people on the field.
Someone should keep the photographers back out of harm’s way.

true that. Today's lenses have plenty of reach. A lens can hurt if it hits the mouth
Ouch!!! That must have hurt! The referee acted as if it was a first down.

I never kneel at a game. Even though that tends to make a better photo a guy my age can't move fast enough to get out of the way. My biggest concern is not the runners but others that are running with the play but not in your view finder and may get knocked into you. At college games, that I attend, they vigorously enforce the sideline safe zone for everyone but the TV camermen. They are free to go anywhere and ignore the line of sight for those with still cameras.

I agree. Maybe the photographers themselves.

She is ok and released from the hospital the next day.
Why should someone do this? Oh unless you are not capable of watching out for yourself I guess. Or maybe trying to not assume responsibility for your own actions.
Maybe they should make photographers wear helmets.
Wonder if she has an imprint of the camera on her face.
I watched that game yesterday.
I think there are far too many peripheral people on the sidelines.
I hope she is alright. That was a serious hit.
