I was having issues with my Nikon 200-500mm and sent it to Mack on 11/1 thinking it would be three weeks or so before getting it back. I was quite surprised to see it just 8 business days later on my doorstep. Had the lens out for a little while today and I think it works better than when it was new.
thanks for sharing gnadeau80... it is this type of feedback and synergy that makes UHH so totally worthwhile... Glad to hear that Mack did a stellar job on your Nikkor... very reassuring...
I've known the people at Mack for many years and used their service quite a few times for both warranty and non-warranty repairs. The people are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional and their quotes, which may initially sound high, often actually come in lower. This is done intentionally to allow for unexpected complications as it is more pleasing to pay less than get hit with additional charges.
It is disturbing to read complaints about them for being rude or uncooperative and I have to say that I've been in the store and overheard as***le customers demanding free repairs for obviously customer caused damage. Cursing, screaming, threats to sue, and berating the store personnel are likely followed by dinging them on social media.
Extended camera warranties are like insurance...pricey if you never need them and indispensable when you do!

The woman I spoke to on the phone was very professional and helpful. My experience and service with them was as good as it gets. It is sad that some people need to treat others as you have mentioned.

Good to know!! Good to share!!
For those of us who have no idea what you are talking about could you be a bit more specific who or what Mack is, what he/it does. Obviously some sort of camera repair but certainly there is other pertinent information you can offer.

As the title says it's a warranty company, but have certified techs that also repair equipment. If they can't fix it in house they send it to be factory serviced. I'm sure there's more to them than I have stated, but in my case this is it.
They fix other things besides cameras. They are also a camera store and have photography lessons.
