Going thru some old boxes I came across this little gem. Took me awhile to recognize my own self. Not like I was into westerns or anything like that. This one was a quick shot by an iPhone and need to get it set up for my good lens. I think the original was taken with a Brownie camera.
So now I have a new project to work on in my Affinity program to try a bit of cleanup and repair.
Wish me luck.

All of us watched westerns and had six-shooters!

My Dad, my two brothers and I watched the Hopalong Cassidy TV show religiously and that made me want the six shooter. We had a really big yard to play in where we lived in Canoga Park and there were innumerable shootouts to be had. Used every bit of our allowances for rolls of caps to make it real.
At six years of age in 1949, we got our first TV. Gleefully watched The Lone Ranger, Hoppy Cassidy, Kit Carson, Annie Oakley, The Rangerider, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers. Never had a cowboy outfit, but I did have several double guns holster belts over the years. Just about the time that I was outgrowing the kid westerns on TV, in the mid-50's Gunsmoke began its long run and inspired so many other "adult" westerns, that any night on TV might feature five or six different prime time westerns.

OMG! I remember my rolls of caps and pistols! And sparklers...haven't thought of those in years! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Good gawd man! How did your neighbors survive with the likes of you strolling around with a cap buster shoved in your belt.😉

Oh yes, to have a dozen rolls of caps!
Nice shot - reminded me of all the westerns I watched as a kid, and the cap guns we had.
Good luck with your new project. Have you done this before?

Thanks to all for the responses. Ahh nostalgia, what parts of our youthful lives have we pushed to the backs of our minds.
As this is my first attempt at this, I can guarantee nothing. But pixels are free and I got nothin but time.

Without cap guns, we used to roll the caps out and strike each with a hammer.
Looks a little like me back then, except the car would be an early thirties model.

I think that car was a 1941 Ford convertible. Yellow if I remember correctly.
